Meet Joan Castleberry, the remarkable matriarch of Diamond J Ranch, whose passion for the horse industry has spanned over 80 years.
Joan plays a pivotal role in creating a warm and welcoming family environment for all boarders and their equine companions. Her dedication to creating a family Christian environment sets Diamond J Ranch apart as a place where both horses and their owners can thrive. She goes beyond just managing the horses; she fosters camaraderie, develops deep relationships with clients as well as horses, and ensures a hands-on approach to horse maintenance and health. With her expertise in horse diet, nutrition, weight control, Joan ensures that every horse receives personalized care tailored to their specific needs. Through her guidance, boarders learn not only how to ride but also how to properly care for their equine partners.
In 2013, at the age of 78, Joan achieved a remarkable feat by winning the team sorting series at Brown’s Ranch in Kissimmee, FL. Her love for barrel racing and pole bending shines through in her every ride, embodying perseverance and skill that transcends age. To this day, Joan is a National Barrel Horse Association Member and continues to barrel race competitively.
